About Me
I am a native New Yorker who has been designing in the theatre for over 20 years. In that time I have designed over 200 productions ranging from small experimental pieces to large-scale musicals. In addition to my design training, I have a strong background in theatre history and dramatic literature which has led me to develop an aesthetic where lighting serves to emphasize the story-telling aspect of theatre. I believe that my work is best achieved when there is close collaboration with the director along with the other designers on a show.
I am a tenured full Professor of Theatre Arts at Kingsborough Community College in
Brooklyn and a member of United Scenic Artists Local USA 829, IATSE. I received my Bachelor’s degree from Lafayette College and my Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Florida. I am also an avid traveler, having visited over 45 countries on 6 continents so far.
